KISSIMMEE, Fla. – The slingshot ride near Old Town in Kissimmee is back open for riders following an incident during which two people had to be rescued from the thrill ride. The Slingshot ride, operated by Starflyer, reopened Tuesday, according to ride operators. The ride was about 30 to 40 feet in the air during the rescue. AdThe incident forced four slingshot attractions in Florida -- in Kissimmee, Daytona Beach, Orlando and Panama City Beach -- to close as a precaution during the investigation. According to the Florida Department of Agriculture & Consumer Services, the attraction is owned and operated by Old Town Slingshot and was originally permitted in November 2001.

KISSIMMEE, Fla. – Two teens were rescued from the Old Town slingshot ride in Kissimmee after one of the cables broke Thursday night, according to Osceola County Fire Rescue. Investigators said as a safety precaution, the ride can’t lower the pod below 30 feet when the cable is not functioning. HAPPENING NOW: Workers are out taking a look at the Sling Shot ride after a cable broke last night, forcing two teens to be rescued. John Stine, the director of marketing and sales for Old Town Slingshot, said the riders were safe during the incident. State officials said there are four of slingshot attractions in Florida with locations in Kissimmee, Daytona Beach, Orlando and Panama City Beach.

The march headed for the house of the right-wing ruling party leader Jaroslaw Kaczynski, but police blocked the street at some distance from the house. The protests were triggered by an Oct. 22 ruling by Poland's constitutional court that abortion in cases of severe fetal deformities was unconstitutional. Kissimmees Old Town district will start up its long-running car shows for the first time since the coronavirus began cancelling events and closing businesses across Florida. Old Town, Kissimmees entertainment district, has hosted car shows highlighting classics, antiques, hot rods and newer high-performance cars for more than 30 years.
