Aronofsky, Iñarritu films set for Venice Film Festival
Darren Aronofsky’s “The Whale,” the Marilyn Monroe drama “Blonde,” Alejandro González Iñárritu’s “Bardo, False Chronicle of a Handful of Truths” and Guadagnino’s “Bones and All,” with Timothée Chalamet, will all have their world premieres in competition at the Venice International Film Festival this fall.
Willem Dafoe to receive honorary UW-Milwaukee doctorate

University officials announced Friday that Dafoe will receive the doctorate of arts on May 22. He’ll receive the degree during the second ceremony of the day. Dafore attended UW-Milwaukee in 1973 and 1974 before leaving to become part of Theatre X, an independent experimental theater company.

The movie features Tom Holland, Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield, who have all previously played Peter Parker/Spider-Man, together on screen. While Tobey Maguire and Willem Dafoe now hold the Guinness World Record, they nearly didn’t play the roles at all.
