MIMS, Fla. – Southbound lanes of Interstate 95 were shut down in Brevard County Tuesday morning following a serious crash.

The crash happened around 4:30 a.m., north of State Road 46.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the collision involved a semi tractor-trailer and a Ford F-450 pickup truck towing a trailer loaded with gravel. The driver of the Ford F-450 was entrapped in the vehicle following the crash. Rescue crews freed the driver, who was then transported by helicopter to a hospital with serious injuries.

Lanes were shut down but have since reopened. The crash remains under investigation.
