51-year-old woman struck, killed in Orange County, troopers say

Crash happened on Colonial Drive at County Road 13

BITHLO, Fla. – A 51-year-old Orlando woman was struck and killed late Thursday night in Orange County, according to Florida Highway Patrol.

Troopers said the fatal crash occurred in Bithlo on Colonial Drive at County Road 13 around 8:50 p.m.

According to a crash report, a Dodge SUV driven by a 37-year-old Sebastian man was traveling east on Colonial Drive, approaching CR-13, when the woman was attempting to cross Colonial Drive, troopers said.

FHP said the woman did not see the vehicle approaching when she was hit.

The woman was pronounced dead on the scene, the crash report shows.

The driver and his passenger, a 52-year-old Melbourne woman, sustained no injuries from the crash, FHP said.

An investigation is ongoing.
