1 injured in crash that closed I-95 in Brevard County

PALM BAY, Fla. – One person was injured in a crash Thursday afternoon that forced the closure of Interstate 95 in Brevard County, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

The crash happened around 12:25 p.m. on I-95 south near Palm Bay.

According to troopers, a Hyundai Elantra and a cargo van collided.

FHP said the Hyundai’s driver is a 40-year-old Palm Bay man and the van’s driver is a 30-year-old man from Melbourne.

One person was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, but FHP did not specify who was taken.

I-95 south was closed near mile marker 174, but later reopened around 1:10 p.m.
