Boxes litter Florida’s Turnpike in Osceola County after crash involving semitrucks

OSCEOLA COUNTY, Fla. – A crash involving multiple vehicles, including semitrucks, prompted the closure Thursday morning of Florida’s Turnpike in Osceola County, according to Florida Highway Patrol.

The crash happened early Thursday near the Canoe Creek Service Plaza, shutting down the northbound lanes of the Turnpike.

According to troopers, the crash involved three semitrucks, a Toyota RAV4 and a pickup truck.

Five people were taken to Osceola Regional Hospital.

Video from the scene shows dozens of what appear to be cardboard boxes in and alongside the road.

No other details have been released, but lanes have since reopened.

An investigation is ongoing.
