Man accused of DUI manslaughter in crash that killed Orlando woman, shut down Forest City Road, FHP says

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – A driver has been arrested, accused of DUI manslaughter in a crash early Sunday that killed a 24-year-old Orlando woman in Orange County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The crash occurred around 4:08 a.m. on Forest City Road at Lake Weston Drive, troopers said.

According to an FHP crash report, the woman was traveling north on Forest City Road when a pickup truck being driven westbound on Lake Weston Drive by a 39-year-old Saint Cloud man failed to stop at the posted stop sign.

The pickup truck entered the direct path of the woman’s car and the vehicles struck each other, the report states. The impact caused the pickup truck to overturn into the median and the woman’s car to run off the roadway to the left, troopers said.

The Orlando woman was pronounced dead at the scene while the Saint Cloud man, identified as Alejandro Valencia, suffered minor injuries and was arrested to face a charge of DUI manslaughter, according to FHP.

A roadblock was established for both directions of Forest City Road which appeared to remain in place southbound at the time of this report, troopers said.
