82-year-old man killed after vehicle strikes tree in Marion County

MARION COUNTY, Fla. – An 82-year-old Ocala man was killed after his vehicle left the road and struck a tree in Marion County on Sunday morning, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Troopers said the man was driving a pickup truck that was pulling a utility trailer south on NW 80th Avenue near NW 100th Street around 10:20 a.m.

According to a crash report, the vehicle left the road and crashed into a tree on the east, grass shoulder.

The driver was pronounced dead at the scene, troopers said.
