Melbourne police said the woman was riding a bike west on the sidewalk along Hibiscus when she turned south and entered the road in front of a Subaru SUV, which hit him.

The woman, identified Friday as Amy Bosworth, was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

Police did not say if the driver, a 63-year-old Palm Bay woman, was hurt.

It does not appear alcohol or drugs were a factor in the crash, which is under investigation.
