Lanes cleared on SR-408 after brush fire in Orange County

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – A brush fire forced the closure of all lanes on State Road 408 near the University of Central Florida, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

As of 7 p.m., though, the FHP announced that all lanes had been cleared.

Firefighters worked to extinguish the fire adjacent to State Road 408 near Colonial Drive. The westbound on-ramp to SR-408 from westbound SR-50 was also shut down.

Traffic was rerouted at SR-50 to manage the closures and keep vehicles away from the affected area, troopers said.

But by around 6:30 p.m., the fire had been 100% contained, according to the Florida Forest Service.
