Rain chances increasing in Central Florida

Orlando to see high temperatures in mid- to upper 70s

ORLANDO, Fla. – Comfortable temperatures take over Central Florida for the next several days, although rain chances increase over the weekend.

Thursday's high temperature in Orlando will be near 76, several degrees above the average high of 72.  There's a 20 percent chance of rain.

Morning lows for Friday will be near 60 degrees.

"Moisture and energy from the Gulf of Mexico will increase rain chances for Friday, Saturday and Sunday," said Local 6 meteorologist Troy Bridges.

Rain chances increase to 30 percent on Friday before jumping to 40 percent on Saturday and 70 percent on Sunday.

Highs will be in the upper 70s over the weekend.

"It will be dry for New Year's Eve and for New Year's Day," said Bridges, adding that temperatures will dip into the 40s for New Year's Eve.

The high on New Year's Day is forecast to be about 70 degrees.
