Low pressure system brings more rain to Central Florida

Tropical Storm Harvey continues flooding Texas

ORLANDO, Fla. – Tropical Storm Harvey is still barely moving in Texas, causing catastrophic flooding. Parts of Texas have already seen 20 inches of rain, and there could be at least 20 more inches on the way.

The area of low pressure over Central Florida still has a 50 percent chance of development in the next five days. If it does develop, it will not be until it is already moved out of Central Florida.

Meanwhile, the system is bringing a lot of rain to Central Florida.

"More rain and clouds are on the way for our Sunday," News 6 meteorologist Madeline Evans said. "All of Central Florida will stay in the mid- to high 80s, thanks to all the cloud cover and rain."

Temperatures will reach a high of 89 degrees in Orlando Sunday, with a 70 percent coverage of rain. Expect scattered, light to moderate rain off and on throughout the afternoon. The heaviest of the rain will move in overnight Sunday, starting around 10 p.m. and lingering until 2 a.m.
