Power went out after car slammed into utility pole

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – Thousands of people were left without power Wednesday evening after a hit-and-run crash in Orange County.

According to authorities, the power went out after a car had slammed into a utility pole, along Waterford Chase Parkway and Hardwood Circle, which is east of the 408.

Local 6 has learned Florida Highway Patrol troopers have found the driver who they said was behind the wheel.

The driver was cited for careless driving. Power was expected to be restored Wednesday night.
