BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. – He's got tons of energy, and sometimes trips over his big ol' floppy ears.
Local 6 partner Florida Today reports the Brevard County Sheriff's Office's newest addition — a swoon-worthy 8-week-old bloodhound — is a bundle of energy that handler Deputy Jared Conaway says will make the pup great at his job. The only problem, apart from the unequal yet adorable ear-to-leg length ratio? The little guy doesn't yet have a name.

Sheriff Wayne Ivey and Conaway will choose the dog's name from suggestions made to the office's Facebook page through Friday. By Tuesday there were already more than 1,500 suggestions.
The dog replaces Montana, a bloodhound that recently retired after nine years of service. "Little man," as Conaway calls him, is too young to train with BCSO's seven other bloodhounds.
The Jimmy Ryce Foundation donated the pup to the sheriff's office. The foundation was formed in the name and memory of a 9-year-old South Florida boy who was kidnapped from a bus stop and killed in 1995. It provides support to parents of abducted children and pays for bloodhounds — expert tracking dogs — for police agencies.
All of the Brevard County sheriff's bloodhounds are stationed at the jail in Sharpes.
