77-year-old suffers head injury in incident near Hunters Creek

KISSIMMEE, Fla. – Four days after an elderly woman was carjacked and injured in Orange County, her vehicle was found abandoned in Kissimmee.

The Orange County Sheriff's Office said on Friday that the 77-year-old woman's Hyundai SUV was located in the 1900 block of Harbor Bay.

Earlier this week, Orange County deputies released a composite sketch of the man sought in the carjacking, which occurred early Monday outside a gated community near Hunters Creek.

According to deputies, the woman was coming home from a family event and entering a gate code when the man attacked her, threw her out of the car and drove off in her vehicle.

The woman was taken to a hospital with a head injury, but she was not seriously hurt, deputies said.

Anyone with information about the carjacker is urged to call Crimeline at 800-423-TIPS.
