Heroin deaths up in Orange County, deputies say

Deputies in Central Florida are issuing a new warning after they say the number of deaths caused by heroin is on the rise.

According to the Orange County Sheriff's Office, there were 57 heroin overdose cases in 2013 and 26 deaths caused by the drug.

In 2014 so far, the number up cases is up to 90 with 36 deaths, according to deputies.

Investigators say half of the deaths happened in the east side of the county.
