COCOA BEACH, Fla. – Cocoa Beach police are investigating a series of smash-and-grab car break-ins overnight that targeted a parking lot full of vehicles at a beach side hotel.

Police were called about 4 a.m. to the Best Western Cocoa Beach Hotel & Suites to investigate reports that burglars  smashed-out car windows and took valuables in the adjacent parking lot.

“We responded to the hotel  and officer discovered that there were multiple vehicles involved. Three or four of our detectives also went out to interview witnesses. The majority of the smash-and-grab break-ins were at the Best Western,” he said.
