Man arrested in connection with bank robbery, Orange County deputies say

Detectives find, arrest man identified as Taylor Creevy, 23

ORLANDO, Fla. – A man has been arrested in connection with a bank robbery Friday afternoon, the Orange County Sheriff's Office said.

It happened around 4:15 p.m. at the Regions Bank in the 7100 block of West Colonial Drive.

Deputies said a man claimed to have a destructive device and left with an undisclosed amount of cash. There were no injuries, and no identified devices were found inside the bank.

Detectives found and arrested the man, identified by the Sheriff's Office as Taylor Creevy, 23, a short time later at Lake Underhill and Conway roads, deputies said.

It appears Creevy is the same person who deputies said entered the Sun Trust Bank in the 1700 block of N. Alafaya Trail around 1:36 p.m. Oct. 27 and passed a note to the teller implying he had a weapon and left with cash.

Creevy is being questioned at the Orange County Sheriff's Office. Deputies said he would be taken Friday night to the Orange County Jail.
