Police said Bailey Taft Bunnett, 19, and Roberto Cruz, 19, ran away but were arrested near the Academic Village on campus.

The duo admitted to being involved in other burglaries on campus, according to a news release. UCF police are in the process of returning the stolen property to victims.

Bunnett and Cruz are charged with burglary to a conveyance, possession of burglary tools and petit theft. Police said more charges could be added.

With news of the arrests, UCF police department officials reminded students to lock their vehicle doors and keep their valuables safe and out of view.

"To our community, we remind you that campus is part of a large city, and UCF is not exempt from crime. Help us keep you safe by always locking your doors and taking your valuables with you," the department said in a news release.
