KEY WEST, Fla. – Authorities say a Florida man chewed up part of a car seat in a deputy's cruiser after being arrested for drug possession.
Monroe County Sheriff's officials pulled over 37-year-old Melvin Stubbs Thursday night after noticing the window tint on his vehicle was too dark. Stubbs had a warrant for violating probation stemming from cocaine sales.

Authorities say Stubbs tried to run as they apprehended him and they deployed their Taser. The deputies said they found cocaine in his jacket pocket and later noticed he had eaten or chewed off part of the backseat of the patrol car. He was placed in foot restraints and taken to the hospital.
He was medically cleared at the hospital and taken to jail.
Stubbs is charged with cocaine trafficking, resisting arrest and property damage.
