Gov. Scott cancels jobs announcement in Orlando after officer shooting

Auditing firm KPMG adding jobs

ORLANDO, Fla. – Gov. Rick Scott has canceled a stop in Orlando Monday to talk about jobs after a police officer was shot and a manhunt for the shooter is underway in Central Florida.

 

Scott was set to announce new jobs coming to auditing firm KPMG, according to a news release.
 

The Full statement from Scott's press office:

Governor Scott was previously scheduled to attend a jobs event this morning with KPMG. Due to the officer-involved shooting and ongoing manhunt in Orlando, the Governor will no longer be attending the event. The Governor has spoken with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement and Orlando Police Chief John Mina. The Governor will remain in Orlando and we will issue updates on his schedule throughout the day.
