MARION COUNTY, Fla. – A 21-year-old man who struck a tree with a car in Marion County died at the scene of the crash, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Troopers said the crash happened around 10 p.m. Sunday near the intersection of Southwest 5 Place and Southwest 210 Avenue in Dunnellon but the wreckage wasn’t discovered until the next morning.

Records show the 21-year-old man failed to stop at a stop sign, traveled through the T-intersection and hit a tree on the west shoulder.
The man, who was not wearing a seat belt, was pronounced dead at 7:13 a.m. Monday.
