Deputies say investigation is ongoing

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – A 23-year-old man was shot and killed early Sunday near the University of Central Florida, the Orange County Sheriff’s Office said.

The fatal shooting happened around 4:30 a.m. at 12101 University Blvd.

The victim was identified by deputies as Jesus Armando Calle.

“The unknown suspect(s) fled the scene prior to deputies arriving,” investigators said.

UCF police tweeted after the shooting that there was not an active threat to the UCF campus.

Officials on Monday said there’s no record that Calle was a UCF student.
