Apopka woman wins $1M in Florida Lottery scratch-off game

Winner chose to receive prize as one-time lump-sum payment

TALLAHASSEE – An Orange County woman won a $1 million prize from the Florida Lottery’s 500X THE CASH Scratch-Off game, according to a news release Wednesday.

The winner, 50-year-old Florenda Zelaya. of Apopka, decided to receive her prize in a lump-sum payment of $820,000, the release stated.

Zelaya purchased her winning ticket from All In One Deli in Apopka. The retailer will be rewarded with a $2,000 bonus commission for selling the winning scratch-off ticket, officials said.

The 500X THE CASH ticket costs $50 and features a top prize of $25 million, the largest prize offered on a Florida Lottery scratch-off game. The overall odds of winning are 1-in-4.50.
