Pedestrian struck, killed by motorcycle ID’d as 87-year-old Melbourne woman

Police say Gerda DiFeo killed in wreck on Sarno Road at Ironwood Drive

MELBOURNE, Fla. – An 87-year-old woman was struck and killed Sunday night in a crash with a motorcycle in Melbourne, according to the police department.

The Melbourne Police Department on Wednesday identified the victim as Gerda DiFeo, of Melbourne.

Police said DiFeo was crossing Sarno Road “mid-block” and was struck by the motorcycle, which was being driven by a 20-year-old Melbourne man.

DiFeo was taken to a hospital and died, police said.

Police said drugs and alcohol do not appear to be a factor in the fatal wreck.

No other details have been released.
