Volunteers help fill Christmas stockings for children and seniors, attend free concert in downtown Orlando

Light Orlando service project helps those in need

ORLANDO, Fla. – This time of year is all about giving, and volunteers came out in force to help on Saturday.

Light Orlando set up the opportunity this weekend to help children and seniors this holiday season.

The service project on Saturday at downtown UCF’s East Building (DPAC 161 and East Lobby) — located at 528 West Livingston St. — helped assemble Christmas stockings for children and seniors as well as hygiene kits for those in need.

Afterward, there was a free concert that started at 8:30 p.m., at Luminary Green Park, where The Band Ofi will perform, getting concertgoers in the Christmas spirit.

Anyone attending the concert is asked to bring canned goods or other nonperishable items to donate to local charities.
