Mystery illness sends Orange County elementary school employees to hospitals

Cause of illness at Wetherbee Elementary not known

ORLANDO, Fla. – Five Wetherbee Elementary School employees were taken to hospitals as a precaution after becoming ill, district officials said.

Crews were called Wednesday to the Orlando school.

Orange County Public Schools said the employees became sickened and “the school is looking into what caused the illness.”

OCPS said three workers were taken taken a Lake Nona hospital and the other two went to a hospital in Hunters Creek.

No systems or operational equipment is known to have caused the illness, according to OCPS.

No students were affected, officials said.
