It’s no surprise that housing costs are an issue for many Central Florida residents — thanks in part to the millions of people flocking to the state.
However, some parts of the region offer more affordable housing than others.

That was made evident thanks to Zillow’s latest housing data, which revealed the typical home value for cities across Central Florida.
Statewide, the most affordable city was revealed as the small city of Gretna near Tallahassee, with a typical home price under $90,000.
But in Central Florida alone — consisting of Brevard, Lake, Flagler, Orange, Marion, Osceola, Seminole, Sumter and Volusia counties — the most affordable city turned out to be Fort McCoy.

Zillow’s data shows that the typical home value in the small Marion County community was just over $144,000, a slight increase from earlier this year.
Meanwhile, on the opposite end of the spectrum is Lake Buena Vista, with a typical home value of nearly $5.8 million, the data reveals.
In fact, many Orange County locales made up the top end of this list, showing that the Orlando metro area is a much tougher market for prospective homebuyers.
That being said, the data says that the most expensive area of the state is in Jupiter Island, where the figure ballooned out to nearly $10 million.
