ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – An unsettling shopping experience for a woman at a Walmart in Orange County this week led to an arrest for video voyeurism.
Owen Canzius, 38, of Davenport, is facing a charge of video voyeurism after he was arrested Wednesday by the Orange County Sheriff’s Office.
An arrest affidavit for Canzius claimed that while at the Walmart on New Independence Parkway, a woman noticed a man had bumped her leg with an empty shopping basket.
“After a few seconds, he attempted to do the same thing,” according to the affidavit. “This time she noticed a phone facing upwards in the basket going under her skirt.”
The affidavit stated that the woman grabbed Canzius and demanded he hand over his phone.
“Owen apologized and opened his phone,” the affidavit said.
The woman said Canzius ended the recording and deleted the video.
After reading through the affidavit, News 6’s Mike Valente combed through the man’s background.
We were able to find a man by the same name listed as a pastor at Powerhouse Fellowship Ministry in Davenport.
The man depicted on the website appeared to be the same man seen in a mugshot for the video voyeurism arrest.
The home address listed on Canzius’ affidavit is also the same exact address listed on the Sunbiz page for Powerhouse Fellowship. The name associated with that address on the Sunbiz page is Owen Thompson-Canzius.
News 6 reached out to the church and to Canzius, but we did not hear back by the time this story was published.
