ORLANDO, Fla. – A video appears to show sections of a temporary wall collapsing onto a group of visitors on one of the busiest walkways at Universal Orlando.
The woman who shared the video with News 6 says it was recorded last month during a heavy rainstorm. You can hear the screams. The video has since been viewed more than 300,000 times on TikTok.
What the video shows
The footage appears to capture sections of a temporary wall falling across a crowded walkway. Screaming and panicking, people can be seen leaning against the wall — apparently on top of them — with their legs and faces getting closer to shorter metal barriers on the other side of the walkway. Others rush in to help lift the wall.
The video has raised questions online about what exactly happened and how the temporary wall was being secured.
Where it happened
The incident appears to have taken place on the walkway connecting Universal’s parking garage to security — the main path guests must take to reach Universal CityWalk and the theme parks.
News 6 reporter Alex Cook visited the location and found temporary partitions running through the middle of the walkway, marked with “Please Pardon Our Dust” signage. On the other side of the wall, boards and large concrete blocks appeared to be holding the structure in place.
Universal’s response
Cook sent Universal the video and asked what caused the wall to fall, how it was secured, and whether any changes were made afterward.
A Universal spokesperson responded with a one-sentence statement: “We do not comment on pending claims.”
Universal did not answer any of the specific questions posed by News 6. The woman who shared the video did not want to be interviewed.
