ORLANDO, Fla. – Jaylen Edgar, the man accused of committing a deadly mass shooting during Halloween celebrations in downtown Orlando, did not take the stand in his own defense on Monday.
Defense attorneys announced that Edgar will not testify, and the defense has rested its case.
Edgar, 18, is charged with two counts of first-degree murder and seven counts of attempted murder in connection with a deadly mass shooting during Halloween celebrations in downtown Orlando in 2024.

Prosecutors rested their case Friday following two days of testimony.
Edgar was 17 at the time of his arrest, making him ineligible for the death penalty.
The shooting claimed the lives of Tyrek Hill, 25, and Timothy Schmidt Jr., 19. Seven others survived gunshot wounds.
