Car splits in half in Orange County crash

Wreck takes place on west side of East Colonial Drive

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – A car ran into the back of a tow truck, witnesses said, in a crash that injured three people, according to Orange County Fire Rescue.

The wreck took place at about 6:45 p.m. Friday, on the westbound side of East Colonial Drive, just west of Harrell Road, officials said.

News 6 received photos from a viewer that showed one of the vehicles involved in the crash split in two. The rear portion of one of the cars ended up in front of a nearby car dealership.

Two people were taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center as trauma alerts.

One person suffered a minor injury and was taken to another hospital.

The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating, a spokesperson for Orange County Fire Rescue said.
