If this newsletter had a theme park name tag, that’s what it would read. I actually still have my Team Member name tag when I worked briefly at Universal Orlando.

My name will be attached to most theme-park-related content on ClickOrlando.com moving forward. I recently started my 10th year at News 6, but I’ve been a follower of theme park news long before that. And now I get to keep you guys in the loop.

Walt Disney World

Have you ‘herd’ the news? A baby elephant made her savanna debut! 🐘

There’s nothing quite like a sunrise at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. While it may have been just a regular Thursday for the rest of the African animals on the savanna, it was baby Corra’s big debut. We spoke with the animal care and science team on what this special milestone means for them.

Corra was also born on Dec. 13, which I’m told that date is basically a holiday if you’re a Swiftie.

Tiana's Bayou Adventure animatronic of "Tiana" (Disney Parks Blog)

It won’t be long before Magic Kingdom guests will hear the sweet sounds of New Orleans jazz playing from a highly-anticipated Frontierland attraction.

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure will be a “festive party” during the Mardi Gras season, so it was only fitting that Disney chose the last day of Mardi Gras to make a big announcement. Click here to see when Walt Disney World is targeting an opening day for the log flume ride.

Legoland Florida

Vroom Vroom! 🏎️

The LEGO version of the newly-built Ferrari 296 GTS is 15 feet long by 7 1/2 feet wide by 4 feet tall. (Legoland Florida)

Most of us don’t get the opportunity to touch, feel or sit in the driver’s seat of a fancy sports car, but at Legoland Florida, they’ve got the next best thing.

This week, Legoland Florida Resort unveiled its life-size Ferrari 296 GTS model. It’s the main feature at the all-new LEGO Ferrari Build & Race Experience opening in March.

It took master builders 1,850 hours to build, and the park is asking its Instagram followers to guess how many bricks it took to build the masterpiece. I’ve never been good at the estimation game, so I’ll just say a lot.

We’re still in early 2024, what attractions and festivals are you looking forward to this year? You certainly don’t need to be a Floridian to follow Central Florida attractions news, so drop me a line in my email or reach out to me on my Twitter or Instagram.

See you next week!
