A former Celebration High School coach arrested earlier this month, accused of sexual misconduct with students, is facing more charges, records show.

Osceola County deputies and Sheriff Marcos Lopez on Thursday escorted a Celebration High School baseball coach to a patrol car for his arrest, accused of sexual misconduct with at least two students.

Five Celebration High School students were taken to the hospital Tuesday afternoon after they ingested “edible gummies,” according to an Osceola County school district spokesperson.

OSCEOLA COUNTY, Fla. – Approximately 260 students have been asked to quarantine in Osceola County amid coronavirus concerns across the district. Osceola County Public Schools reports a majority of the quarantines were at Gateway High School in Kissimmee. The school has asked 102 students to quarantine with 10 students testing positive for the virus. Tohopekaliga High School also put 67 students under quarantine after seven students tested positive, and Celebration High School quarantined 65 students after positive cases were also detected among its student body. This information also includes the number of students and school employees who have been asked to quarantine.

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – Two local high school football games that were supposed to happen Friday night have been canceled due to positive COVID-19 cases, according to Orange County Public Schools. The affected games are: Freedom High School vs. East River High School and Ocoee High School vs. Celebration High School. The Ocoee game has been canceled due to contact tracing at Celebration, which played against Freedom last week. Games involving Evans High School vs. West Orange High School and Edgewater High vs. Wekiva High have also been canceled earlier this season. Orange County football players are required to get rapid coronavirus testing before games.
