Moody’s office said last year’s Cyber Monday produced the single biggest online shopping day in U.S. history, with nearly $11 billion spent. Counterfeit goods scam: Counterfeit products often resemble the original product, especially in online photos. E-holiday card scam: Emails or text messages of seemingly innocent digital holiday cards could instead be a common greeting card scam. ‘Buy online, pick up in store’ (BOPIS) scam: Knowing consumers want to bypass shipping fees, scammers create fake BOPIS product sales online.

Americans are spending freely and going back to store shopping, knocking out some of the momentum in online sales from last year when Americans were making many of their purchases exclusively via the internet.

Amazon said small and medium-sized businesses that use the platform took-in nearly $5 billion between Black Friday and Cyber Monday, a 60% jump from last year. The firm says sales grew 22% for the period from Thanksgiving Day and Cyber Monday. Analysts say it is evident that the pandemic is leading more people to shop online.
