A pilot is OK after a small plane he tried to land in a field Sunday morning crashed near Chuck Lennon Park in De Leon Springs, according to the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office.

VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. — A small plane crashed around 9:20 a.m. Sunday, the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office said. According to a news release, the pilot had reported an engine failure and had to make an emergency landing in De Leon Springs. VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. — One person is dead, and another is in the hospital with serious injuries, after crashing into a large pickup truck.
