Harris twins split decisions on National Signing Day
ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, Fla. -- Lake Brantley’s twin four-star linebackers made their college decisions on National Signing Day Wednesday. Andrew and Michael Harris were both committed to UCF, but backed off their commitments in December. ORLANDO, Fla. -- Seminole beat Mandarin in Jacksonville Monday night 30-28 to advance to the 4M regional semifinals. The Seminoles will host Lake Mary for a spot in the regional final. Elsewhere, Winter Park blanked Lake Brantley 31-0 to set up a date with Apopka in the second round. In the 3M playoffs, Oviedo knocked out Wharton from Tampa 22-21 in overtime. The Lions went for two in OT and got it to advance.

SEMINOLE COUNTY, Fla. – A female skier who was pulled from Lake Brantley is now in critical condition, according to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission. Officials said a male was operating a watercraft while the female skied from the back around 10:15 a.m. Sunday. The pair was known to ski on the lake on an almost daily basis. He rushed to pull the female from the water and brought her to a neighbor’s home to perform CPR until first responders arrived. She was taken to an area hospital, where she is currently in critical condition.
Seminole high schools cancel outdoor graduation ceremonies due to increase on COVID-19 cases
SEMINOLE COUNTY, Fla. Following the recent increase in coronavirus cases Seminole County high schools announced this week they will no longer host outdoor graduation ceremonies but will honor their graduating seniors through smaller ceremonies where social distancing can be observed. Seminole County health officials have been sounding the alarm over the last two weeks after an increase in new cases, particularly in younger populations. Seminole County High School cancelled the ceremony at Thomas E. Wingham Stadium and will hold smaller ceremonies at the school auditorium on July 17. Lake Howell High School officials are still working on a plan to allow students to walk across the stage and graduate.
Seminole Outslugs Lake Brantley 35-28 To Stay Undefeated
September 30, 2016 – Seminole tailback DJ Hampton came through when his team needed him most. With the game against Lake Brantley tied at 21, Hampton answered the call, scoring his third and fourth touchdowns of the night in the second half to lead the Seminoles to a 35-28 victory. Hampton finished with close to 250 yards rushing. Seminole improved to 5 & 0 on the season and visits Lyman next week. Lake Brantley heads into a bye week at 3 & 3.
