ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — A man in his 20s was clipped by a vehicle and then possibly hit by a school bus while he was on a crosswalk in Orange County, officials said. Officials said the school bus was full of children going to Oak Ridge High School. Law enforcement officials on scene said the school bus ran the man over. Florida Highway Patrol officials said they are not sure if the school bus was involved. Oak Ridge High School principal recognized as Orange County Principal of the Year
ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – Orange County Public Schools has revealed the 2021 Principal of the Year is Oak Ridge High School Principal Jennifer Bellinger. The innovative principal raised the school from a “D” to a “B” in two years. Bellinger has been an educator for 23 years and is in her fifth year at Oak Ridge. AdBellinger says the school’s success is a group effort involving staff and students willing to follow her lead. Bellinger says the next goal is making Oak Ridge an “A” school.
Pedestrian killed in hit-and-run in front of Orange County school
ORLANDO, Fla. - A driver was arrested Thursday morning in a fatal hit-and-run crash after a pedestrian was found dead in front of an Orange County school, the Florida Highway Patrol said. Troopers said Walnert Charles, 46, of Orlando, was arrested in connection with the crash, which was reported at 11:55 p.m. Wednesday on Oak Ridge Road at Shelburn Court near Oak Ridge High School. The FHP said the Eutimio was trying to cross the road when he was hit by a 2000 Toyota pickup truck. According to troopers, Charles told a witness he was going to "go home and call 911" but never did. @FHPOrlando say Walnert Charles was the driver.
