Troopers said Olando Ellis died in the crash, which was reported at 3:12 a.m. on I-95 south at mile marker 294 near Palm Coast.

The FHP said Ellis' 2005 Mercedes S420, which did not have its lights on, stopped in the outside lane of I-95 south near Matanzas Woods Parkway.

The driver of a semi did not see the Mercedes and ran into the car, causing the big rig to overturn and slide through a guardrail, blocking four lanes of traffic, two northbound and two southbound, the FHP said.

Ellis was pronounced dead at the scene, the FHP said. The driver of the semi was not injured, the FHP said.
