Big rig driver killed in crash at I-4 and SR-536 in Orange County

Fatal wreck happened on I-4 east exit ramp to World Center Drive

ORANG COUNTY, Fla. – A 60-year-old big rig driver was killed Monday night in a crash on an I-4 exit ramp in Orange County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The fatal crash happened around 8:05 p.m. on the on I-4 eastbound exit ramp to State Road 536, also known as World Center Drive.

The FHP said the Moore, South Carolina, man was driving a tractor-trailer on the I-4 ramp to S.R. 536 when the vehicle ran off the roadway for an unknown reason and crashed into some trees.

The driver, who was wearing a seat belt, was taken to AdventHealth Celebration Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, an FHP crash report stated.

The exit ramp was shut down while troopers investigated the crash.
