ST. CLOUD, Fla. – A 16-year-old boy died after he was struck by a vehicle while riding his bike Wednesday morning, according to the St. Cloud Police Department.
Police said the crash happened at the intersection of 13th Street and Ohio Avenue at about 7:21 a.m.
The boy was taken to a local hospital in critical condition and later died of his injuries.
Authorities said the driver of the vehicle is cooperating with the investigation and they do not suspect that he or she was impaired.
"The St. Cloud Police Department asks for the privacy of the family to be respected, as they deal with this horrific incident," officials said in a news release.
The investigation is ongoing.
