“We’re grateful Walt Disney World Resort weathered the storm, and we are currently assessing the impacts to our property to prepare for reopening,” the company’s website reads.

Theme parks and Disney Springs will remain closed on Thursday, Oct. 10, and Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party will be canceled (event tickets will be refunded).

For partially used multi-day tickets, ticket expiration dates will be adjusted to expire on Oct. 11, 2025.

Disney will not enforce cancellation policies until further notice for dining and other experiences. Prepaid booking experiences should be automatically refunded with 7-10 business days.

However, Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground and the Treehouse Villas at Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa remain temporarily closed. The company suggested earlier this week they are likely to remain closed through Sunday, Oct. 13, though no official timeline has been set.

Meanwhile, Disney will continue to operate certain dining locations for guests staying at the Disney Resorts. For the latest details on times and locations, click here.

In addition, the following activities may be available to guests to enjoy at Disney Resort hotels:

  • Free Disney movies in Resort hotel rooms
  • Surprise Character visits and other family activities in the lobby
  • Free play on Thursday, Oct. 10 in the arcade
  • Fitness center during normal operating hours

Walt Disney World Transportation and Minnie Van service remain temporarily unavailable on Thursday.

Alongside that, the following locations will also be closed through Thursday:

  • The Spa at Disney’s Vero Beach Resort
  • Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon water park
  • Fantasia Gardens and Fairways Miniature Golf
  • Winter Summerland Miniature Golf
  • Disney’s Blizzard Beach (closed for planned refurbishment)

While it doesn’t happen often, there have been hurricanes in the past that forced Walt Disney World to shut its doors. According to WDW Magazine, the following nine storms were responsible for shuttering the Disney theme parks:

  • Hurricane Floyd: September 1999
  • Hurricane Charley: August 2004
  • Hurricane Frances: September 2004
  • Hurricane Jeanne: September 2004
  • Hurricane Matthew: October 2016
  • Hurricane Irma: September 2017
  • Hurricane Dorian: September 2019
  • Hurricane Ian: September 2022
  • Hurricane Nicole: November 2022

This makes Milton the 10th hurricane in Disney’s history to force its parks to shut down.
