BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. – A deputy was injured Friday morning when another driver crashed into his Dodge Charger while making a U-turn, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Anita Wittig, 52, was driving north on State Road A1A  in the area of Eau Gallie Boulevard around 8:55 a.m.

She attempted to make a U-turn so she could drive south on SR A1A and when she did, her Saturn entered the direct path of Brevard County Sheriff's Office Deputy Sean Mulvaney's Dodge Charger, the report said.

The front side of the Charger struck the right side of the Saturn.

Mulvaney suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries. Wittig was not injured. Both drivers were wearing their seat belts.

Wittig received a ticket for violating the right of way, troopers said.
