Deputies seize 2 pounds of fentanyl, 8 pounds of cocaine in drug bust, officials say

LAKE COUNTY, Fla. – A man and woman were arrested following a yearlong drug investigation that yielded 2 pounds of fentanyl, 8 pounds of cocaine and $218,000 in cash, according to the Lake County Sheriff’s Office.

Eugene Isom, 44, and Marie Richardson, 42, were arrested on Wednesday at a home in Astatula.

According to the sheriff’s office, an investigation began last year after detectives received numerous tips on Isom.

While executing a search warrant on Wednesday, deputies said they found “a one-stop shop of narcotics” with 1 pound of crack cocaine, 2 pounds of fentanyl, 8 pounds of cocaine, 2 pounds of methamphetamine and 25 Tramadol pills. The sheriff’s office said there was also $218,000 in cash, seven firearms and two vehicles.

Isom was arrested and faces several charges, including tampering with physical evidence, trafficking in cocaine over 400 grams and trafficking in fentanyl over 28 grams. Richardson was arrested and faces charges of trafficking in cocaine over 400 grams and trafficking of fentanyl over 28 grams.

This comes after the sheriff’s office announced the end of a four-month investigation called Operation Sneak-a-Peek, targeting high-level drug traffickers.

Detectives seized more than 3 pounds of fentanyl along with 22 pounds of meth, 15 pounds of marijuana, 2 pounds of cocaine, over 5 ounces of heroin and smaller amounts of other drugs. They also seized four vehicles, 13 firearms and $12,000 in cash.
