Deputies: Teen thrown from car during confrontation in Brevard

Driver of gold-colored sedan sought after incident near Rockledge

ROCKLEDGE, Fla. – A teenager suffered serious injuries Thursday evening in Brevard County when he was thrown from a moving car during a confrontation with the driver, authorities said.

The incident was reported on Slayton Avenue near Rockledge.

According to Brevard County sheriff's deputies, witnesses said the teen was involved in some sort of spat with the driver and possibly jumped on or tried to climb into the vehicle, a gold-colored four-door, possibly a Ford or Nissan.

Deputies said the driver sped off, dragging the teen until he was thrown from the car.

The 18-year-old was airlifted to a hospital. Deputies said he's expected to recover.

Deputies said they're searching for the car and driver as they continue to investigate what happened.
