Woman fires shots at children's birthday party, police say

ORLANDO, Fla. – A woman was arrested Saturday after Orlando police said she fired a gun at a children's birthday party.

When officers arrived to Gilbert McQueen park they said about 50 people were yelling and screaming near a Chevrolet Cruz, as the vehicle was attempting tot pull away.

People were banging on the windows, screaming at the people inside the Chevrolet, one of the responding officers wrote in the arrest report.

Witnesses told police that a person in the car, later identified as Deneshia Pugh, 26, shot at them, according to the report. Pugh fired the gun at several party-goers feet and once into the air, witnesses told police.

Police said there were children playing in the park and when officers arrived they were visibly shaken and crying.

Officer searched the Chevrolet and found a Glock with an extended magazine. Police said there were 19 bullets in the magazine and one in the chamber. The magazine holds 22 bullets, according to the report.

Pugh is charged with aggravated assault with a firearm, shooting a firearm in public and child neglect. She was ordered held without bond.
