‘Vehicle in motion:’ Disney shows off first test run of TRON Lightcycle Run

New attraction under construction at Magic Kingdom

BAY LAKE, Fla. – Walt Disney Imagineering shared video showing the first high-speed test run of the anticipated new attraction, TRON Lightcycle Run.

The roller coaster is under construction right now in Tomorrowland at Magic Kingdom.

In the video, the Lightcycle vehicles are seen accelerating into parts of the track outside.

Back in March, Disney said the the attraction had reached a major milestone in its construction and was heading into phase two, which included “push-pull” and high-speed testing. Crews were also putting the final touches on the attraction’s massive canopy.

An opening date for TRON has not been announced.

Before guests experience TRON Lightcycle Run they will first get to experience the all-new roller coaster attraction, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind at EPCOT.
