Alice and the arts: Creative City Project goes ‘Down the Rabbit Hole’
WINTER PARK, Fla. – Alice is falling down the rabbit hole, and on the other side, her “wonderland” is the Mead Botanical Garden. Following its holiday event “Dazzling Nights,” Creative City is presenting “Down the Rabbit Hole,” a theatrical journey based off Lewis Carroll’s book “Alice in Wonderland.”[TRENDING: Injunctions filed against girl slammed by deputy | SpaceX launches satellites | OK to dream: Snow in Florida?] “We’ve really been asking, ‘How can we create interesting outdoor experiences, that allow audiences to have meaningful art experiences during COVID?’” said Creative City Project Executive Director Cole NeSmith. NeSmith said many of the featured performers were let go from their jobs at local theme parks. Tickets are $22 per person on Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday and $25 per person Friday and Saturday.
Harry P. Leu Gardens ‘Dazzling Nights’ ends in success, date announced for 2021
ORLANDO, Fla. – Organizers at the Harry P. Leu Gardens in Orlando are celebrating a huge success over the holiday season. The creators of the popular “Dazzling Nights” event said after 36 days, the nighttime light show brought in more than 35,000 people from Central Florida and beyond. “Dazzling Nights” was an outdoor holiday event consisting of a 3/4-mile walking journey featuring a 65-foot-long light tunnel, lasers, interactive light installations, more than a million points of light, snow and live entertainment. Creators from the Creative City Project and The Memoir Agency worked with people at the city of Orlando, Leu Gardens and AdventHealth to make the event happen. Creative City Project to take Orlando 'Down the Rabbit Hole' in February
click image Photo courtesy Creative City Project/FacebookFresh off their immersive holiday lights experience Dazzling Nights , the Creative City Project are heading straight into 2021 with the announcement of "Down the Rabbit Hole" set for February.Though Dazzling Nights only just wrapped last weekend, the-inspired Rabbit Hole is set to launch on Saturday, Feb. 6 and run through March 14.To stage Rabbit Hole, Creative City and Modern Theatricals' Donald Spencer will take over the very appropriate locale of Mead Botanical Garden with a mix of circus arts, dance, music, comedy and theater, presenting a new spin on the characters of Lewis Carroll.Small groups will follow Alice on a trek through a reimagined Mead Garden and run into all the usual suspects — including the Mad Hatter, the Cheshire Cat, and the Duchess.Tickets can be purchased through Creative City Project and run from $22-$25.
