Pedestrian struck, killed in Orange County

Troopers release few details in fatal crash

ORLANDO, Fla. – A pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle Monday night in Orange County, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

The fatal crash was reported at 7:14 p.m. on Dean Road near Flowers Avenue.

Troopers said a 2012 Toyota driven by a 53-year-old Casselberry man struck the pedestrian, who was walking along the northbound lanes of Dean Road.

The pedestrian was taken to Florida Hospital East, where he was pronounced dead, the FHP said.

The driver, who was not injured, remained at the scene, troopers said. It's not been determined if he will face charges.

An investigation is continuing.
