Apopka man, 25, crashes into tree, dies in Orange County

FHP says Anthony Disla pronounced dead at scene

ORLANDO, Fla. – A 25-year-old Apopka man was killed after crashing into a tree in Orange County, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

The FHP says Anthony Disla died in the crash, which was reported at 12:15 a.m. at Colonial and Semon drives.

Troopers said Disla was driving a 2015 Nissan Altima west on S.R. 50 and attempted to change lanes to pass traffic. He lost control of the car, which traveled down an embankment, struck a tree and overturned, troopers said.

Disla was pronounced dead at the scene.

Disla was not wearing a seat belt, the FHP said.

It's not known if alcohol played a role in the crash.

The wreck forced officials to close one westbound lane of Colonial Drive. It was later reopened.
